Hi I had 2 budgies and then we got another 2 and they used to come out of there old cadge..I bought a very large cadge one of those indoor avery types and since then they won't come out..
All for get on very well and they have lots of different adventures inside with there toys, swings and fun treats for them to find..
I just don't know why they won't come out, when they used too.. I have tried putting treats on the outside with there perches and toys but they just poke there head out and look at me chitter away and nod there head...can anyone help as I only want the best for my lovely little feathered friends...

I used to have all four of mine in seperate cages, and when I bought a flight cage and put them all in it, they did the same thing as your's are doing. I would leave the door open all the time and every now and then one would come out. I think mine just didn't care to leave because they had everything they wanted and needed inside, even flight space. I started feeding them treat's only at the open door, and then a few inches outside of the door. This was the only way I ever got them out...:)

I agree with Randy :iagree:

Your budgies have everything they want inside their lovely home so they don't feel the need to venture out into the world outside of their "safety zone". If you leave the cage door open and give them the option to come out if they choose to do so, then I think that's just fine. :) I have several of the large flight cages. When I give my upstairs budgies out-of-cage time, they may fly around the room a couple of times but generally they go "cage hopping". They visit all the other open cages in the room playing with the toys and eating the food there (even though it's the same as what is in their own cage) :D

My downstairs budgies spend a lot more time flying around and playing on top of my head. However, they also enjoy playing on the playground I have set up on top of their flight cage and the two patios that hang on the outside of their cage with accompanying toys.

As long as your birds are healthy and happy -- they have a nice big cage so they are doing great!!
