I think this every morning when I go for a walk.. I just walk in a loop, 3.6km, and I see:
Parrots: sulphur crested cockatoos, rosy galahs, rosellas, corellas, red rumps, musk lorikeets
Other "common" birds: crows, magpies, blackbirds, sparrows, magpie larks (Murray magpies), wattle birds, mynahs, yellow honeyeaters, finches, pigeons, doves, willie wagtails, wood ducks, pacific black ducks
Other "less common" visitors: superb fairy wren (on my front lawn!), white ibis, grey white-faced herons, kites (often hovering over paddocks), hooded plovers, kookaburras
At "the duck house" (a neighbour who has a mixed flock who all graze in a small paddock that is their yard, complete with natural watercourse): Huge Cape geese (who've just had goslings.. So much awwwww!), chickens, mallards, Muscovy ducks, Indian runners.
I feel incredibly lucky to have my life enriched by these beautiful birds .. Not to mention my beautiful boy at home!
