I am finally getting my act together and getting back to training. Tonight was just testing to see where everybirdie was at. Maru is working on targeting. Pip is targeting for loop, max is still doing all the main tricks. Ziggy noped after waving and star is in need of some taming time.

Star and Max are allowed out of cage time together but are living seperate.

I hope everyone os staying safe and healthy!

Nearly forgot it was a clicker training night...had a quiz to take before I could do anything.

Anyway update! (And expletives because new phone=new keyboard layout *mumblegrumblemumble*)

Max was following the target! And he is ok with the ball being in his face.

Star was just trust building.

Maru is targeting and responding better to my normal stick/tail pressure means of having them turn. He paused whenever I gave him a treat after as if he was trying to commit to memory what he did to get treat.

Ziggy was next and when he wasn't getting over stimulated and pretending to feed the perch he was targeting for the starts of loop.

Pip pip is also working away at targeting.

Video of Max targeting!

Plus some pictures! After all new phone also means new camera! (I really need to figure out how to put ! Where @ is because this is going to drive me crazy!)

Max is figuring out that if he targets the ball on the stick he gets a bonus treat!
Worked on stepping up without biting my hand with star. Yes. Broody hen is broody and only allowed supervised time with Max. I am considering putting her on short day vacation soon but then again it is that season for them.
Maru is doing better with the first part of turn around...just not doing a full turn around.
Ziggy waved and worked on loop.
Pip is also working on loop.

Max was working on targeting the ball. He also targeted the stick. It was so cute, I held out the target stick and he ran over and targeted!

Star was a not nippy brat for a change so we did small amount of review.

Pip was next and was super excited and worked on loop.

Ziggy worked on loop and actually worked with me!

Maru is going through a nasty molt so I helped him with his pin pins and had him take a bath. I will put some pictures below :)

Also Max and Star being cute.

I intended to train last week but a little lady gave me a scare by bonking into a window. She is ok but her cere was bruised.

We did do some training Thursday but it was more of the same.

At the same time I noticed Marus foot looked off. His back outer toe on his right foot wasnt gripping the perch. I sent a picture to our vet and she agreed it looked like it wasnt grasping like it should. He is on meloxicam for the next few days and we will see if it helps. If at that point there is still no change I will sort out a way for him to be seen. This whole covid thing makes house calls a no go for our vet.
My biggest fear is its something neurological. More specifically how certain cancers can press on nerves that lead to nerve issues with their thinks he got his toe snagged in something and just needs time to heal (thus the meloxicam). Budgie daddy points out that Maru is the king of climbing on toys he should not be climbing on. His weight is normal and it doesn't appear to be bothering him or keeping him from navigating around his cage. There isn't any swelling or discoloration. Honestly he is more angry that I keep fussing over him and give him icky meds. I will post below the pictures I sent our vet. First one is the problem toe, second is normal, third is under foot picture. Again its his right toe thats the problem. The red spots on his feet have always been a thing. Not sure what to think of them but they are not new.

Has anyone come across something similar?

I had a budgie that injured his toy on a toy and he held it that way for awhile.
Within about 2 weeks he was back to normal. Hopefully the same will happen with Maru!
