Default How to get medicene off of face?

Milo got an "all clear" from the vet, but now he has brown sticky medicene stuck on his face. it's been there for four days now. he doesn't seem to have any interest in trying to clean it himself, and isn't tame enough to trust me putting a q tip to his face. advice?

Use a bird mister to mist him... This gives them the desire to preen themselves.

As long as the medicine is okay for him to ingest that is.

Warm water and a paper towel is the best way to get it off. I've had this happen so many times with Sammy - I found that the easiest is not to get it on his feathers in the first place (easier said than done! ) If I give him the medicine slowly, it keeps his feathers relatively clean.

Good luck!

I misted him down. Going to wait a few hours to avoid extra stress to try the paper towel method if he doesnt try to clean it. thanks!

Renu worked beautifully. He bit the q-tip though that had the renu on it.. could that hurt him? im assuming since you said its safe being on their feathers it wouldn't but im kinda paranoid now.

I had no idea that you could use Re-Nu on budgies! Thanks for the tip, Lynda!
