Budgie Health

Hi. I have a female lutino budgie who is about several months old who has a lump on the left side of her chest. I was wondering if it's just food or is it something much worse. Thank you.

Please post a photo of her.

From what you are saying it could be a number of things , definitely need a picture is the lump hard , soft, movable?
For this type of thing I would go to an avian vet as soon as possible if it were me.

I'm not really sure how to post a pic on here because I just got it yesterday but the lump is never hard and it comes and it goes from time to time.

The best way to post pictures is to open a free Photobucket account and then follow the instructions linked below:

Are you saying you just got the budgie two days ago?
Did you get it from a breeder or a pet store?
Have you had it examined by an Avian Vet?

People on the forum are only going to be able to speculate on the matter even with a picture.
It is important for an Avian Vet to properly diagnose the problem and determine if treatment is necessary.

No. My female lutino budgie was born at home.

And like I said. The lump comes and it goes. It usually lasts for a day or two and then the lump goes away but it always comes back. Is that something to worry about?

Since budgies have such delicate systems and this is definitely abnormal, I think it is something to worry about. As others have said, pictures would help us see if we know anything about what you are describing and a visit to the vet would be good!
Does she have any other abnormalities (not eating, runny/different droppings, etc.)?

I bet she is a beauty, and I hope everything is well with her and gets resolved soon! :)

Perhaps you're seeing her crop bulge when it's full.

Thank you for the advice and I will be sure to visit the vet after this bird flu is over because they won't let anyone bring their birds to vets just in case the bird does have the flu. And she is a true beauty with beautiful red eyes. Named her Lemon.
