Default Budgie Making this Noise A Lot

Hey, I just recently got two new parakeets and I am a first time owner. I noticed that my birds have been chirping and making these noises a lot: https://youtu.be/Gb-cyFowTG4 . I was wondering if this was normal and what it meant. I just want to make sure they are happy and healthy! Thanks!

Hi! to Talk Budgies

Yes, your two new budgies are happy and it's great they are chirping already.
They are very cute, what have you named them?

You'll want to replace the dowel rod perches in their cage with natural wood perches of varying diameters to help prevent bumblefoot.

Take a look at this link for suggestions of good perches to use:

Please take the time to read through the Site Guidelines, all of the How To Guides, the FAQs, the Budgie Articles and the stickies located at the top of each section of the forum.

You'll find most of your basic questions about budgies and caring for them will have been answered after you've read through all of them.

We haven't named them yet cause no one can agree on a name. In my mind, however, the green one is Emmy, she is a female, and the white/blue one is Ollie, he is a male.

Hi Marsbar and to the forums!

FaeryBee has given you some great advice and resources to continue learning all about budgies! Your little ones sound very cute, and I think Emmy and Ollie are great names for them, even if for now they aren't "official"

Be sure to read through the links above, as they will help you to stay posted on the very best of budgie care practices! If you have any questions afterwards, please be sure to ask as we'd love to help!

We'd love to meet your little birds sometime when you get a chance

Cheers!
