Default Molting

My blue budgie is molting... poor thing. He looks horrible. Wondering if this is normal?

It is not uncommon for a bird to feel poorly and look awful when going through a bad molt, is this the same bird that has the seed in the poop? It takes a lot of energy and nutrients to replace feathers and during a molt the birds immune system is not at its best and if there is an underlying illness you may see symptoms of it during a molt when the resistance is not at its best. If this is the bird with the seeds in its poop all the more reason to let the vet have a look at the bird.

Yes it's the same bird. In the meantime, I'm giving him vitamin water, egg protein, and misting his feathers with water
