Aww, Sam is so cute, growing so fast, and your other budgies are so adorable! What are the other budgies' names? 😁

Just a question if you don't mind, I notice your other budgies' tails are quite short, I also noticed it looks like the recessive pied female has her wing flight feathers clipped and the cobalt opaline female has had her wing flight feathers clipped but some are growing back, and Sam the budgie has one developed primary flight feather but his other flight feathers are clipped. The clip on the rec. pied female looks quite short, which is unsafe as it is uncomfortable and prevents the budgie from being able to glide softly to land on the ground whenever they need, and keep some balance and coordination. Generally it is only the first 4-6 primary flight feathers or less that are clipped (please consider not clipping, I hope you are not bothered by me saying this & advocating for non-clipping, but leaving the wings natural can give the birds so much freedom, safety to escape from any potential danger, reinforce balance, posture, and, rather than biting, they can avoid uncomfortable situations by flying away).

Is there any explanation for the short tails i.e. did they fall out, were they chewed or plucked, have they ever had full grown tails? It is very important to take budgies to an avian vet to assess their health and make sure there are no bacterial, viral (like Avian Polyomavirus or French Molt, also Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease and others) fungal or parasitic infections which can cause underdeveloped feathers like the tail rectrices, wing remiges and other areas, the budgie can typically begin to form bald patches; there are other clinical signs as well. An avian vet could help with feather plucking as well if that is the case. Also, it is not safe to clip a bird's tail, it should not be done, it is very harmful as it interferes with their control of balance, steering and coordination, even when they walk and climb.

Also here is link to find an avian vet near you: https://www.aav.org/page/FindAVet2

I hope Sam and your other budgies are doing well! :)
