Hey birdie friends!
Back again with another question. I live in Texas and it doesn’t get extremely cold in the winter, but it can still get pretty cold. The room where Sammy’s cage is gets cold because its on the outer side of the house. I have him far from the window, but next to him is a small door that leads to the cross-space. (A cross-space is kinda like a mini attic) and it can get cold in there and sometimes it can feel cold in that corner of the room next to the door of the cross-space. It can also get chilly at night. I wanted to buy a heater for sammy, and i came across this bird heater. so i wanted to ask do yall think its ok? I also found another, but it was a perch heater. I looked at the reviews and some people said it over heated and burned their birds feet, so not getting that one! This one looks like the best i could find and it has good reviews too. Do you think its ok for a budgie to stay warm? Have any of yall had this before or have any problems with it? Thanks in advance! ❤

I have one of these and I found that it does not seem to put out much heat, at least from what I can feel, maybe the birds can sense it better. When I had it mounted I did not see that the birds were attracted to it for heat, although I did not buy it because the room was cool, I had an ill bird and wanted to see if he would be more comfortable snuggled up next to it but he did not seem to care about it. How cold does the space get where your bird is ?

Not super cold but cold enough to have to put on a sweater and want to stay in bed. Oh also, i just read this article

Keeping Budgies Warm in the Winter

It doesnt get past 60 in my house, so i think sammy will be ok. I think i will go ahead and buy it anyways to see if he would like it though. If he doesn’t, well now i have a heater for the emergency/quarantine cage.
